Freedom, Energy and Sociability

马

The Horse is a symbol of unbridled freedom, joy of life and momentum. People born under this sign are extremely sociable, talkative and full of energy. Wherever they turn up, the fun begins. They are popular, well liked and win people over with their directness. The Horse cannot lie or scheme - it says straight out what it thinks, which is sometimes taken as tactlessness, but always comes from pure intentions.

As long as the Horse is the centre of attention, it is the life and soul of the party. But if it is ignored or sidelined, it quickly loses its good humour, sulks and loses interest in those around it.

Personality Traits

Horses are eternal optimists who rarely worry about the future. They are hard-working, but need challenges and variety. Routine is a prison for them. They can be impulsive and act on the spur of the moment, which makes them a little irresponsible, but their personal charm means their mistakes are easily forgiven.

In friendship they are loyal, although they love to gossip. It is not malicious - Horses simply love exchanging information and keeping up to date. They are generous and happy to help others, though their help can sometimes be chaotic. As parents they are wonderful playmates, though they may find it hard to keep discipline.

Love and Relationships

The Horse loves... being in love. The euphoria and butterflies in the stomach are its natural fuel. It is an incorrigible romantic who can lose its head for love. In a relationship it is passionate, exciting and full of ideas.

The Horse's problem is inconstancy. When the first phase of infatuation passes and everyday life sets in, the Horse starts to get bored and look around for new thrills. It needs a partner who will keep pace with it, will not restrict it and will give it constant stimulation. If it feels "tied down", it will break its chain and run away.

Career and Finances

Finances are the Horse's Achilles heel. Money burns a hole in its pocket - no sooner has it earned it than it spends it. It has no habit of saving and does not think about retirement. It lives for the moment.

Even so, it rarely goes hungry, because it is creative and hard-working. It is not suited to dull office work. It does well in professions that involve contact with people, movement and invention: as a reporter, salesperson, artist, pilot or athlete. It can work hard, but only when the work gives it pleasure.

The Horse and the Elements

Water Horse An artist and a diplomat. It has an excellent sense of humour and is very communicative. It can adapt to the situation, though it can be a little chaotic and disorganised.
Wood Horse The calmest of the Horses. It is more stable and willing to cooperate. It can be gullible, so others may take advantage of it, but its optimism allows it to bounce back quickly.
Fire Horse A legend of the Chinese zodiac (it occurs once every 60 years, e.g. 1966, 2026). An extreme personality - it will either achieve spectacular success and fame, or bring trouble on itself. It lives on the edge.
Earth Horse The most sensible. It has conservative views, values tradition and is better organised than other Horses. It acts more slowly, but more thoroughly.
Metal Horse Fearless and stubborn. It gets bored quickly and needs constant change. In love it is a real heartbreaker, always looking for new conquests.

Compatibility with Other Signs
