The Head Line - The Mirror of the Mind

Discover your way of thinking, your powers of concentration and your memory.

In the art of palm reading, the shape of the hand and fingers speaks of our innate potential, while the network of lines shows how we realise that potential in life. The Head Line is the foundation of our mental sphere. It reveals how we absorb knowledge, how we deal with problems and whether we are guided more by logic or by imagination.

Interpreting the Course of the Head Line

The head line in palmistry

Moderate length: Suggests a balanced and practical mind. Such a person keeps their feet on the ground and uses their intelligence to solve concrete, everyday problems.
Exceptionally long: Shows above-average intellectual potential and enormous curiosity. Often found in people with broad horizons who are open-minded and tolerant.
Distinctly short: May indicate a nature more oriented towards action than deep analysis. Such a person is practical, but may sometimes lack the patience to explore complicated issues.
Straight and long: A logical, analytical and orderly mind. Excellent memory, the ability to concentrate and a natural aptitude for the sciences, planning and strategy.
Straight and short: Often means street smarts and pragmatism, but may also suggest a tendency to opportunism. Such a person can spot opportunities quickly and adapt other people's ideas to their own purposes.
Starting on the (active) Mount of Mars: Dynamic, sometimes downright combative thinking. This person is ready to defend their beliefs and ideals and does not shy away from intellectual confrontation.
Starting on the Mount of Venus: The mental sphere is closely linked to feeling and aesthetics. Thinking may be emotionally coloured, and such a person is sensitive to beauty and pleasure.
Ending on the Mount of the Moon: The domain of dreamers and creators. It indicates a rich imagination, a strongly developed intuition and a creative approach to life, sometimes with a tendency to daydream.
Ending on the (passive) Mount of Mars: An excellent combination of intuition and strength of character. This person can use their hunches in a practical way, achieving success through mental perseverance.
A long join with the Life Line at the start: Caution, prudence and a need for security. Reason controls impulses here. Such a person needs more time to make decisions and takes the opinions of others into account.
A short join with the Life Line: The intelligence is brilliant, but sometimes lacks depth. Despite outward self-confidence, this person may be susceptible to the influence of others.
No join with the Life Line (at the start): Great independence of thought, courage and an entrepreneurial spirit. Such a person prefers to act quickly and independently, and is often full of enthusiasm and self-belief.
A fork at the end of the line: A mind able to see things from different perspectives. It may mean original thinking and, in extreme cases, a revolutionary approach to problems.
Ending in a trident: An exceptionally favourable sign. A harmonious combination of analysis and imagination. It often indicates a talent for finance, but also spiritual and social interests.
