A guide to card layouts and how to use them

Choosing the right spread is just as important as the interpretation itself. Different layouts are used to answer different kinds of questions - from simple, everyday dilemmas to complex analyses of life paths. There is no single "best" spread; the best one is the one that resonates most with your question and intuition at that moment.

Below we present several classic, proven spreads. The numbers on the cards show the order in which they are drawn and interpreted.

✨

The Three-Card Spread

This is one of the simplest and at the same time most versatile spreads. Ideal for beginners and for quick answers to specific questions. The cards are laid out in one horizontal line, from left to right.

  • Card 1: The Past. The events that led to the current situation.
  • Card 2: The Present. The heart of the matter, what is most important now.
  • Card 3: The Future. The likely outcome if nothing changes.

Other ways to interpret it: "Situation - Challenge - Advice" or "You - The Other Person - Your Relationship".

The Destiny Spread (First Name and Surname)

This is a unique numerological spread that links your personal signature (first name and surname) with the energy of the cards. It allows a very broad view of the timeline, where each letter becomes a carrier of information.

Number of letters in your first name = Your Present

Number of letters in your surname = Your Future
  • Stage 1: Analysing the First Name (the Present). Count the letters in your first name. Draw exactly that number of cards and lay them out side by side.

How to interpret it? Don't look at each card separately. Look at them as a picture - do light or dark colours dominate? Are there more Swords (problems/thoughts) or Cups (feelings)? Together these cards form a single, complex portrait of your current life.
  • Stage 2: Analysing the Surname (the Future). Count the letters in your surname. Draw the corresponding number of cards and lay them out in a second row.

How to interpret it? These cards represent your path and what is "written" in the ancestral vibration of your surname. Look for a common denominator - if many Major Arcana appear in the row, changes of a fateful nature await you. If the cards are "calm", the future will be stable.

The Rule of Synthesis: In this spread we avoid reading the textbook definition of each card. What matters is the "atmosphere" of the row. If the Present row is heavy and the Future row is light, fate heralds a quick resolution of your problems.
