Page of Pentacles Tarot card

Symbolism and Meaning

The Page of Pentacles is a card embodying ambition, eagerness to learn and a pragmatic approach to life. It shows a young person standing in a flowery meadow, gazing with fascination and tenderness at the golden pentacle in their hands. They do not have their head in the clouds (like the Page of Cups) or brandish a sword (like the Page of Swords). Their feet are firmly on the ground.

The setting is peaceful, full of greenery and ploughed fields, symbolising the potential for growth and fertility. The Page of Pentacles understands the value of work and money. He is the archetype of the Diligent Student or the Apprentice - someone who is only just starting out, but has a clearly defined goal and is ready to learn in order to achieve it. The pentacle is like a seed for him, which he intends to plant.

This card brings a breath of fresh air to material matters. It often means news about money or a career: a job offer, news of a pay rise, a scholarship being awarded or an exam result. The Page of Pentacles is a solid, trustworthy person, though perhaps a little slow to act - he would rather do something once and do it well than rush.

In a spread, the Page of Pentacles is an excellent omen for career and educational matters. It suggests that this is the ideal time to start a new project, sign up for a course or postgraduate studies, or simply learn a new skill. It is a card of "opportunity" that is real and tangible.
