Queen of Wands Tarot card

Symbolism and Meaning

The Queen of Wands is the embodiment of the mature, magnetic energy of fire. She sits confidently on a throne decorated with lions (a symbol of strength and of the sign of Leo) and sunflowers (a symbol of the sun, joy and fertility). In one hand she holds a blossoming wand and in the other a sunflower. Her gaze is bold, direct and full of warmth.

At her feet sits a black cat. In many cultures the cat is a symbol of magic and intuition, but also of independence and of the part of our nature that remains wild and untamed. The Queen of Wands masters this energy; she is not afraid of her "shadow" but integrates it, which makes her authentic and powerful. She is the "lady of the house", the life and soul of the party and a born leader.

The card symbolises a person (of any gender) with enormous charisma, self-confidence and optimism. She is creative, enterprising and full of passion. Unlike the impulsive Knight, the Queen of Wands can direct her energy in a steady and effective way. She draws people to her with her inner light and warmth.
