Three of Wands Tarot card

Symbolism and Meaning

The Three of Wands is the natural continuation of the Two. Plans have been made, decisions taken, and now we watch the first effects of our actions. The card shows a figure standing on a high cliff with their back to us, looking at the sea on which ships are sailing. It is a symbol of ventures that have already been "sent out into the world".

The three wands are firmly planted in the ground, suggesting stability and solid foundations on which the future is being built. The figure holds one of them while leaning on it - a sign of self-confidence and active waiting. The ships on the horizon symbolise the coming results, trade, travel and the exchange of ideas.

It is a card of broadening horizons, of going beyond what is familiar and local. It points to the moment when your vision begins to materialise. It is not yet the final triumph, but a clear sign that you are heading in the right direction and that your efforts are starting to bear fruit.

Interpretation of the Card

In a spread, the Three of Wands is a very favourable sign, especially in professional and business matters. It says that your "ships are coming in" - you can expect the first profits or positive news about your projects. It encourages global thinking, cooperation with others and the courage to reach for more.
